Spanish Town, Jamaica

Singer, model, actress

Grace Jones is an actress, model, and singer famous for her disco-esque songs of the ‘80s and androgynous look.

Originally from Jamaica, Jones moved to upstate New York while young and immediately ventured off her prescribed path by becoming a go-go dancer and later studying theatre in college.

At 18, she signed to a New York modeling agency, where she then moved to Paris, kickstarting her international acclaim. Jones recorded three albums, with the sounds centered in disco, jazz, reggae, and rock.

Outside of modeling and music, she also starred in a few films like Conan the Destroyer, Boomerang, and A View to Kill.
