When your debut album is an immediate success, your impact on the game is no longer up for debate.
Toni Braxton had a hold on R&B in the early '90s with classics like "Un-Break my Heart" and "Another Sad Love Song." Her debut album, Toni Braxton, went platinum eight times in the U.S., and won her two Grammys (Best New Artist and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance), marking Braxton as a star.
Her second album, Secrets, gave us "You're Makin' Me High," Braxton's first #1 on Billboard, and "Un-break My Heart" (considered her biggest hit) spending eleven weeks at #1 on the charts.
