Houston, aka "The Voice," is one of the best-selling artists of all time, amassing sales of over 200 million records worldwide. Her studio and soundtrack albums are certified diamond, multi-platinum, platinum, or gold.

Her single, "I Will Always Love You," which was written for The Bodyguard soundtrack (her film debut), hit Number 1 on Billboard's Hot 100, stayed there for fourteen weeks, and won a Grammy for Record of the Year. The soundtrack, which included six songs by Houston, is the best-selling soundtrack album with 44 million copies sold.

Whitney was signed on the spot after Clive Davis heard her sing. Her first album, Whitney Houston, sold 13+ million copies. Next, her second album, Whitney entered the Billboard charts at #1 and included the major hit "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)."

Houston appeared in multiple films after The Bodyguard, like The Preacher's Wife, Cinderella, and Waiting to Exhale.
